Why we left WordPress, Wix and web builders behind

And why this is the best decision we've made.

"Can't you just build me something simple in WordPress?"

It's something we get asked often.

The truth is, we can. We simply chose not to anymore.

And it's not about technology. It's about results.

How we reached this decision

Over the past years, we built dozens of sites on WordPress, Wix and other tools. We saw firsthand what works, what creates problems, and what costs the client time and money.

And at some point, something very simple became clear:

Most sites don't fail because they're "ugly". They fail because they're slow, heavy and hard to manage.

The core problem with WordPress & web builders today

WordPress isn't a bad tool. But together with Wix, Squarespace and other builders, they're built on a logic that no longer fits today's needs.

In practice: plugins for everything, page builders for design, constant updates and maintenance. This almost always leads to the same result:

a site that starts simple… and ends up complex.

What this means for a business

No need to get technical. For a business, it comes down to 4 things:

The site is slow

The user opens it, waits, and often leaves.

Constant maintenance

Updates, plugins, conflicts. Something always "needs" attention.

Security risk

More plugins means more potential security vulnerabilities.

Not keeping up with the web

Search is changing (AI, mobile-first) and these sites struggle to keep up.

What we observed in practice

After so many projects, we noticed a pattern: most WordPress sites load in 4–8 seconds, need frequent updates, become heavier as they grow - and when something breaks, it takes time and money to fix.

And the most important part:

The customer doesn't wait.

The shift in our philosophy

We decided to change our approach. We don't want to build sites that "just hold up" - we want sites that work properly from the start.

Our goal is for every project to be top class. No patches, no limitations.

That's why we moved to next-generation technologies like Astro and Next.js.

Why Astro / Next.js

Without technical jargon, the difference is simple:

The site is ready before the user even opens it.

It doesn't load things on the fly, doesn't depend on plugins, doesn't "build" itself live in the browser. This gives some very practical advantages:

Clean structure - SEO & AI readiness

This is where the real difference lies - and where most people haven't paid attention yet.

The sites we build have clean, structured information from the start. Google understands more easily what you do, your pages have a proper foundation for SEO, and you don't depend on plugins to "fix" things after the fact.

But the most important part:

AI tools can read your site properly.

Today, more and more users ask ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI. For them to recommend you, they need to "understand" your site. Most sites (especially heavy WordPress sites with builders) have content that loads dynamically, isn't structured, and simply don't show up.

With our approach, the content is clean and "readable" by every system.

This puts you ahead of the competition - and the gap will only grow.

Speed

Sites load almost instantly - not "fast enough", but fast enough that the user never leaves. And that alone is a competitive advantage.

Stability & Security

No plugins, no exposed database, none of the classic WordPress issues. Fewer things = fewer things that can break.

Design freedom

On most WordPress sites you start from a theme, customise, "fight" with limitations - and in the end, it looks like 100 other sites.

With our approach, there's no template limiting you. We build exactly what your business needs: a unique image, a standout experience, branding that lasts.

You don't look like your competition. You stand out clearly.

The truth about WordPress

We don't dismiss it. WordPress helped millions of businesses - including us. We've built many projects on it and continue to support them.

But it's no longer what we would choose for a new project today.

Where we stand today

We're not saying everyone needs to switch immediately. But if someone is thinking about a new site, a redesign, or wants something future-proof - it's worth starting with the right foundation.

We don't build sites just to exist. We build sites that work - fast, right, and without limitations.

And most importantly: sites that stand out.

That's why we left WordPress and web builders behind, and moved to the next generation of web.
